[RE]constructed Landscape, San Pedro, California

The [RE]constructed Landscape reflects the contradictions inherent in its site and functions along with the cyclical nature of aquaponics.  The contradictions present within the site derive from its location bearing potential to mediate between the industrial Port of LA and residential backdrop of San Pedro.  The [RE]constructed Landscape is not only about nature, it has a dual focus. The project will improve the quality of life of people living within the urbanized core of Los Angeles, in particular, San Pedro.  In recreating a landscape to be inhabited with people, the project frees the residents from contemporary life, resulting in architecture that is critical, causes transaction, mediation and lifts the quality of life.
