Professor Robert Arens was invited by Engineers Without Borders to present hisresearch on rapidly deployed emergency shelters at their West Coast Conference help October 19-21 on the Cal Poly campus. Robert's presentation was titled "Pleats: Taking the Long View on Temporary Shelters for Disaster Relief".
Associate Professor Mark Cabrinha is co-Chair of the upcoming ACADIA 2012 conference, Digital Synthetic Ecologies, October 18-21 in San Francisco. His work on gridshells with Andrew Kudless, CCA and Matsys, and David Shook, structural engineer at SOM SF, for Smart Geometry 2012 is also featured in the curated exhibit.
