I see architecture as a medium for designing the future, what we design now can set a new precedent to how spaces are experienced and how people live in the future. In my 3rd year studio project, Expanding Matter I focused on creating spaces for researchers and the neighborhood around the building that enrich the quality of life and the environment it is in. In my 4th year studio projects, Green Core and Macdonald Cut, with the idea of creating enriched spaces in mind, I centered the projects on sustainability and how buildings can serve multiple purposes. By harvesting solar energy and rainwater these buildings can provide for themselves and other communities. Architecture should be used as a medium to set new standards of how we use buildings and how buildings benefit our environments.
