2011 Vellum/CAED Furniture Competition & Exhibition
Overview
Vellum Design Build and the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) are pleased to announce the 8th Annual Vellum/CAED Furniture Exhibition. The exhibition of furniture designed and constructed by CAED students will be on display at 848 Monterey Street near Mission Plaza (between Chorro and Morro). -The Old Pier One Space and the site of Third and Fourth Annual Vellum Competitions on November 5th, 2011 from 10am - 6pm.

Jury Members
We are delighted to draw top names in the furniture design industry for this year’s jury:
Mark Horton: The principal in charge of design at Mark Horton Architecture at South Park in San Francisco. Mark Horton Architecture is unique in the celebration of the “joy of making” through a variety of avenues, whether it be architecture, construction or model-making as a major process tool.
Dawn Sherry: The principal in charge of design at Sherry & Associates in Santa Barbara. Sherry & Associates oversee a variety of commercial and residential architectural design projects. More importantly from the Vellum perspective, they design interiors for many restaurants and homes.
Bruce Bolander: Bruce is a graduate of the Cal Poly Architecture Department and principal in charge of design at Bruce Bolander_Architect in Malibu. He started his career making furniture and now merges that expertise with his wonderful architecture, pool and interiors projects.
George Garcia, AIA: The principal in charge of design at ga+d, Garcia architecture + design in San Luis Obispo. George is a long time supporter of the Vellum Design Competition, and this year’s sponsor of the ga+d: modern master award. ga+d specialize in both architecture + interiors.
Matthew Granelli: Matthew is a designer at internationally known Sand Studios in San Francisco. Matthew is an accomplished designer of the built environment and furniture, as well as an expert craftsman building his own work. He won the 5th Annual Vellum Competition in 2009.
